Thank you for the blog and the invitation to comment on it.

First off, I think that blogging the progress of the appeal is a wonderful idea, potentially this could have a very wide readership - bringing in more and more publicity and support for the fund-raising effort.

I love the photos on the page and would like to see more of them. Lots of photos of the whole church but also of the tower and what the problems are with the tower would be wonderful.

I'd also suggest that a blog needs to be added to often and regularly. If nothing's happening, perhaps you could write some short posts on why it is important for the tower to be saved?

And certainly it needs a more personal perspective. We know the author is 'Pam', but who is she? Why is she writing this blog? Why is she trying to save a church tower?

Perhaps you could invite other members of the fund-raising team to add entries on their perspectives on the effort. You can enable others to have access to the blog for this.

I found this blog through the church's main page, but it was quite a struggle going from the small window this blog is given on the main page to a full-screen version. I'd work on that if possible.

I don't mean to sound too negative! I offer these suggestions in a spirit of friendship and wish you all the best. I'm writing because I live near the church (and have even considered attending the odd service!) but didn't actually know about the appeal. Isn't that awful?!

Have you leafleted the parish? Does everyone in the parish and beyond know about this appeal?

I have no idea at all, but perhaps saving this tower could also build the church itself, bringing in new members. So, again, people need to be told why it's important for them and their community.

Anyway, that's enough from me. I'd just like to tell you again what a great start this blog has made and wish you all the very best.

Love and Peace,

Marcus

I agree with Marcus, we need to find your blog straight away. Its like a maze at present and its sheer luck if you can find it! We are all aware of our local church within the community.

St Andrews is visited by most of us for weddings, christenings and funerals, xmas and easter celebrations.

It would be great to see your vicar have his own blog page where he can weekly tell us whats going on and what he is up to. We do have the Parish magazine but it does not tell us much about the life of your church. Surely its more that just religious services.

We have received the tower appeal leaflets, very nice - but tell us who are the people in the pictures, as they coneected to Cherry Hinton Church? What are they doing, they actually look like they are having some fun, so tell us more to keep us interested in the real people there. We are after all in the community!
